Ideally located in the geographical centre of beautiful multi-faceted County Clare, Kilmaley offers a plethora of activities to choose from.

The Mid-Clare Way, which bisects nearby Lisroe and Connolly, is an opportunity not be missed for walking enthusiasts.

Anglers can enjoy top-quality fresh-water fishing in three nearby lakes:

1. Lough Gortaganniv less than a mile away on the road to Ennis
2. Lough Burke a mile towards Kilnamona
3. Lough Naminna four miles away on the Kilmaley-Creagh road.

Kilnamona boasts a fine Pitch-and-Putt course.
Serious golfers can avail of high-quality courses in Woodstock (Ennis), and Dromoland (Newmarket-on-Fergus) near at hand, while the world-famous courses of Doonbeg (West Clare) and Lahinch (North Clare) are less than an hour away by car.

For those interested in the beach, Spanish Point is only 14 miles away, while Doonbeg and Lahinch are also within driving distance.

Clare has more than its share of fine festivals, chief among which are:

• The Willie Clancy Summer School in Miltown-Malbay in early July (20 mins drive from Kilmaley)
• The Fleadh Nua in Ennis every May (10 mins. drive)

And if it is a quiet pint or two in the local you are after, The Kilmaley Inn is right next door.

The Parish of Kilmaley is dotted with archaeological remains from ancient hill-top ramparts and megalithic monuments to holy wells.

Those with a religious bent can attend Sunday Mass at Kilmaley Roman Catholic Church in the village.
